Project Description
“Fragments of Place” traces what remains
and how it clings, gently, to the present.

“Fragments of Place” observes the residual textures and geometry of a derelict HDB block in Singapore — a structure poised between habitation and disappearance. Each postcard-sized photograph isolates surfaces, objects, and traces of use, transforming them into fragments of material memory. Displayed informally with masking tape, the prints echo the impermanence of the site itself, blurring boundaries between image and object. Through this modest yet tactile installation, the work reflects on photography’s relationship to time, surface, and urban change exploring materiality, memory, and the quiet transitions within the built environment.
