Project Description
‘In Full Swing’ is a series of Widelux F7 panoramas made while walking, in which the camera's rotating lens turns a single frame into a duration where time, movement and place unfold across one stretched image.
In Full Swing is an ongoing inquiry into panoramic photography made with the Widelux F7, a camera whose rotating lens does not apprehend a scene in a single instant, but traverses it.
Where a conventional photograph is often understood as a frozen moment, the Widelux panorama is better understood as a duration made visible. As the lens swings across its field, time is inscribed into the frame itself: figures elongate, architectural lines bend, and a single image comes to contain not one decisive instant, but a sequence of observations held together by the movement of the apparatus.
The work continues my interest in photography as a medium of inquiry — in particular, how a mechanical mode of seeing both records and distorts the world it observes. The stretched frame is not a technical curiosity, but a way of asking how photography constructs time, space and representation, and what becomes visible when looking is allowed to unfold rather than arrest.
